ZAMBIA & ZIMBABWE
The country is back in the news for limping back to normalcy with its currency now looking up. After a decade or so Zimbabwe is once again seeing an influx of tourists. So gather your bags and head out to the country to experience the roar of Victoria Falls, its unique velds, national parks and stand mesmerised looking at its flaming maasa trees. Sharing much of its history with Zambia, Zimbabwe throughout its turbulent times never lost its smiles, its charm and its hospitality in welcoming tourists into its fold. With a change in the government, its people are finally looking at exciting days to come. So be a part of the excitement that is palpable everywhere.

The Victoria Falls Hotel
Arrive at Victoria Falls and check into the famous Victoria Falls hotel that was built by the British in 1904 in Edwardian style, redecorated in 2013 to integrate the old world charm with the new. You can relax at the spa or dine at one of the three restaurants and indulge in some good local cuisine or retire to your room to re-energise and visit the Victoria Falls the next day.

The Victoria Falls
Rated as one of the major attractions in the world just like the Pyramids, the thundering Victoria Falls is an attraction on its own. Though shared by both Zambia and Zimbabwe, the Falls stands as a place on its own. The Falls attracts all kinds of tourists, thrill seekers, honeymooners, couples, families, backpackers- and it never fails any of them.
There are many ways of experiencing Victoria Falls, but the most popular ones are: viewing it as a raging waterfall directly or, hop onto a microlight aircraft and fly over the falls or take a helicopter ride and view the falls from the sky or if you are the adventurous kind you could just take a walking tour and view the Falls from various places at various angles. Take a pick how you would like to see it.

The Microlight flight
The microlight flight gives one a more open and authentic experience of witnessing the roaring Falls directly and following it all the way down to where it flows. You get to witness the power of the falls and feel its force. With space just enough for two people, the pilot and the tourist, the microlight flying experience guarantees that the flyer experiences the sheer magnetic force of the Falls with uninterrupted breathtaking views. The only flip side to experiencing this kind of flying is it is available only on the Zambian side and would cost a little bit more since one needs to take a visa and cross over to Zambia to experience a microlight flight.

Helicopter tour
The view from a helicopter would definitely be more different than what one experiences on a microlight aircraft. But the sense of beauty of experiencing the powdery Falls is what every professional photographer dreams of. The scenic beauty seen from a height provides the right coverage for some world-class photos that captivates the glorious mists, the azure skies and rainbows that often appear to be welcoming every visitor to the Falls. While flying across 5580 feet of space, following the Falls you will in all likelihood get to see the Zambezi river, the Batoga gorge and the Zambezi National park where one can also catch sight of the wildlife thriving in the park.

Take a walking tour
For many, it is the feel and the essence of the powdery falls that makes a lot of difference. To walk alongside the roaring waters or to just gaze at it from the edge of the cliffs is something that the most adventurous among the lot would love to do. There are many walking parties or tours that take in tourists to witness the length and breadth of the Victoria Falls. Experience the falls and the lush forests as you walk along its trail. You can experience the centuries-old Victoria Falls bridge constructed in 1905, gaze into the depths of the Batoka Gorge as you weave your way along the sides of the Falls, taking in its zenith and the rainbow that forms over the azure waters. Breathe in the picturesque scenes, breathe in the fresh spray, bathe in the cool waters and hold onto your memories as you unwind back at the Victoria Falls hotel. Nothing can ever come close to the marvellous experience of witnessing the mosi-oa-tunya or the water that thunders!

Time for some adventure!
After finishing breakfast it is time for some adventure. This is for those who are strong at heart, try bungee jumping from the Victoria Fall Bridge or go rafting in the rapids.
The 111-metre plunge from the bridge will set adrenaline flowing heart pumping and the roar of excitement will match to that of the roar of the Falls. The Victoria Falls bridge has a history as old as the Falls itself, has a road, rail and footway and is one of the 3 roads connecting Zambia to Zimbabwe. So as you stand to jump off the bridge, appreciate its history, marvel the breathtaking scenery and most importantly salute those who had constructed this solid bridge that withstood the vagaries of time.
Those of you that prefer rafting can experience White water rafting on the Zambezi river. This river is considered to be the best in the world for rafting as it has three to five rapids in a deep channelled voluminous river. For those of you who prefer to go when the water level is low can do so between July and January. The water in the river changes with seasons. There is high water between February and June. So choose your time to experience the best White River rafting that one can experience in a lifetime. The tour bodies ensure everyone is satisfied even those who wish to try rafting for the first time along with those who are game to do a full day or half day rafting. There is one for everyone!
